RW Sleighter was commissioned by The Allegheny County Housing Authority to provide architecture and engineering services for interior and exterior renovations to West Mifflin Manor.
West Mifflin Manor is an elderly high-rise located in West Mifflin, PA. The interior renovations include improvements to both kitchens and bathrooms in the units. The kitchens will be reconfigured to provide more counter-space for tenants and kitchen cabinets will be replaced to give the units a more modern feel. New bathroom plumbing fixtures; new flooring throughout the apartments and new lighting fixtures, switches and receptacles throughout the apartments are all included as well. The entrance lobby finishes on the first floor will also be updated with new flooring, LED lighting, new ceiling tiles and new paint.
Exterior renovations include the replacement of an outdated air unit and the design of a new patio to provide and area for outside seating for tenants. The front entrance canopy overhang was redesigned to improve the appearance and improve the functionality for incoming traffic.
Construction is anticipated to begin for the renovations to West Mifflin Manor next month and will be a 12 month project from start to completion.
